Toys for Fatra
MgA. Jerry Koza, MgA. Anna Kozová
Toys and exposition for Fatra, Designblok, Prague, Czech Republic, 2013
We received an amazing opportunity to try to build on the legacy of the legendary inflatable toys by Libuše Niklová, an icon of Czech design of the previous century.
In reference to the modernist inflatable toys by Libuše Niklová, architect Jerry Koza from the Atelier SAD designed, along with his wife, designer Anna Kozová, two new models of toys. The toys were made according to their design, an organically shaped tractor and a goat that jokingly refers to the name of the designer couple. Both of the products are made out of cut pieces of rubber that are heat-soldered together to form the final shape of the inflatable toy. For the presentation of the new collection of inflatable toys at the Designblok 2013, the architects from Atelier SAD created a simple installation consisting of amoebic shaped low tables referring to the rounded shape of toys themselves. The exhibition was topped off with a monumental inflatable wall, which architecturally defined the entire exhibition space.
