House reconstruction in Říčany

In the reconstruction of an older house with a large garden, the architects of studio SAD worked mainly with minor modifications of the otherwise ordinary house, which complement the relaxed country atmosphere of the entire building and its surroundings. The simple, crude steel construction of the carport with a majestic tree growing through it, refers to the elementary modernism from Californian. The geometric simplicity characterizes also the terrace and roof pergola on the first floor. The architects have uncompromisingly increased the sliding French windows and the terrace towards the garden. After these larger interventions, the architects focused primarily on less invasive modifications of the layout and its interior. A custom designed table combines a steel pedestal with a massive wooden board. The living room is enriched with a distinctive sculptural element in the form of a tin library inspired by paper origami. The atmosphere of the whole house culminates in its connection with its garden, which is the work of landscape architects Mirka Svorová and Jakub Finger of studio Partero.
